    <li>If shoes are wet or dirty, take them off at the bottom of the stairs to prevent mud, water, or bugs from entering the home.</li>
    <li>Do not place luggage on bedding.</li>
    <li>Do not leave food out (on counters, pots, or pans), as it can attract rodents and cause unpleasant smells.</li>
    <li>Stainless steel cookware was chosen for your health — please keep it clean.</li>
    <li>No hot items or staining substances on countertops.</li>
    <li>Maintain a clean environment inside the apartment.</li>
    <li>Do not clean the apartment or linens with chemical-based cleaners or fragrances (we aim for a chemical-free environment).</li>

  <h2>🚽 Plumbing &amp; Bathrooms</h2>
  <ul>
    <li>Plumbing is sensitive — do not flush paper towels, feminine products, large amounts of hair, or anything other than toilet paper.</li>
    <li>Run the bathroom exhaust fan while showering and turn it off when complete.</li>
    <li>In the bathroom, only the left shower door slides — the right is fixed in place by design. Please do not force it.</li>
  </ul>

  <h2>🚭 Smoking, Vaping, Fire &amp; Safety</h2>

    <li>No smoking, vaping, candles, or incense. A $2000 fine applies.</li>
    <li>No open flames of any kind.</li>
    <li>Fire extinguisher is located in the kitchen.</li>
    <li>Do not run ceiling fans at high speed for days at a time.</li>

  <h2>👥 Guests &amp; Occupancy</h2>

    <li>No parties or large gatherings (maximum 6 people).</li>
    <li>The house comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests.</li>
    <li>Additional guests: $50 per person, per night (air mattresses available if needed).</li>
    <li>No unapproved overnight guests.</li>

    <li>Animals are generally not permitted.</li>

    <li>No jumping on the beds.</li>

    <li>Park on street or behind the house leaving room for other guests. Backing in is suggested.</li><li> Do not leave cars in driveway. It is shared between the two properties and you will block in the neighboors.</li><li>Parking is first-come, first-served in the driveway.</li>
    <li>If you use any exterior door, never leave it unlocked or ajar for more than 5 minutes.</li>
    <li>The front door locks automatically — make sure it closes fully.</li>
    <li>Do not leave doors partially open, especially in cold weather.</li>

    <li>No holes in the walls, sticky items, or painting.</li>
    <li>Please do not damage flooring.</li>
    <li>Remove lint from the dryer after every use.</li>

    <li>Do not go into the basement or the garage without permission.</li>
    <li>Do not make any adjustments to the plumbing or electrical.</li>
    <li>Do not touch the artwork.</li>

    <li>Monthly housekeeping available for $100 (light touch-up clean, not deep clean).</li>
    <li>The cleaning fee is designed to reset the apartment back to the condition it was in when you arrived.</li>
    <li>If, after your stay, the cleaning team finds the home in beyond average clean-up condition, you will be charged an extra cleaning fee.</li>

    <li>Always <strong>turn off the heat or AC when leaving the apartment</strong>, and be sure to close all windows if the air is on.</li>
    <li>For heating, please keep the thermostat <strong>no higher than 74°F</strong>.</li>
